Design Testing
The Lysaght Design Test Centre (DTC) has been developed to prototype any roof design that your imagination creates.
Rather than restrict the building industry, BlueScope Lysaght encourages design innovation and our new test facility allows us to help you push the boundaries, without the risk!
From your drawings we can replicate your desired curve or twist and test LYSAGHT® wall or roof cladding to ensure the product still performs under these specific conditions.
You can even view the product on the test rig to see how the cladding will actually appear on your finished project. Better to find out at an early stage whether a product will handle your concept. Why not take some photos and show your client and contractors the desired appearance.
Certification
Once all the checks are done, the Lysaght Design Test Centre will issue a technical report and certification if the tests were successful.
This certification is dependent on final inspection of the installation to ensure the specified Lysaght profile was used and installed as per our tests.
The final Certificate of Endorsement means that the builder and architect have the backing of BlueScope Lysaght for the design.
If the integrity of the profile is affected by the desired design, we will provide recommendations as to how the design can be changed to ensure optimum and certified product performance.
Any job tested and approved by the Lysaght DTC will receive full certification from BlueScope Lysaght.
The Process

| 1. Architectural plans are provided to the Lysaght Design Test Centre where they are evaluated by our engineers. | 2. A Test Rig Layout is developed to simulate the cladding requirements. | 3. The Test Rig is set-up by the Design Test Centre's workshop technicians. | 4. The screw line is analysed to ensure there is no cladding deformation or creasing at the Purlin interface. |

| 5. The engineers then assess the sheets to detect any oil canning or marking. | 6. The sheet overlaps, both on top and underneath, are checked to ensure that the design maintains water tightness. | 7. The integrity of the overhangs is also checked. | 8. An important feature of the test rig is the ability to easily view the underside of the profile. |
