LYSAGHT MINI ORB®
Product Description and Features
LYSAGHT MINI ORB® is a mini-corrugated profile which is suitable for use in interior or exterior applications on straight or curved surfaces. It has the same traditional shape as LYSAGHT CUSTOM ORB® but on a much reduced scale. Its subtle profile is a perfect complement to other LYSAGHT® claddings to provide a "contrasting" surface as an accent feature.
- Rib height of 6mm, and a cover width of 820mm for flexibility and versatility
- Able to be used for both straight and curved applications
- Can be used with the corrugations running vertically or horizontally
- Can be laid flat, pre-curved, or spring-curved for increased versatility
- Custom cut lengths
- Available in a wide variety of COLORBOND® steel colours and ZINCALUME® steel
Common Uses of this product
Primarily used for a decorative finish on walls, ceilings, and soffit linings; feature walls and partitions; and screens and small awnings not subject to any foot traffic. Can also be used for furniture; fencing and gates; awnings and shop fittings and interior ceilings in both industrial and domestic markets.
Warnings
- LYSAGHT MINI ORB® is not suitable for roofing
- The tables on this page are based on sheets being overlapped by 1.5 corrugations
- Lead and copper are not compatible with ZINCALUME® steel or COLORBOND® steel
- Ensure selection of suitable materials for environmental conditions for maximum durability
- Read full details on Guidelines for using COLORBOND® steel & ZINCALUME® steel.

Spanning Tables
Maximum wall support spacings
The maximum recommended wall support spacings are based on testing in accordance with AS1562.1-1992 and AS4040.2-1992.
Wall spans consider resistance to wind pressure only.
The pressure considered is based on buildings up to 10m high in Region B, Terrain Category 3, Ms=0.85, Mi=1.0, Mt=1.0 with the following assumptions made:
Walls:
Cpi=+0.20, Cpe=-0.65, Kl=2.0 for single spans, Kl=1.5 for internal spans.
These spacings may vary by serviceability and strength limit states for particular projects.
| Maximum support spacings for walls | ||
|---|---|---|
| Type of Span | BMT (mm) | |
| 0.42 | 0.48 | |
| Single Span End Span Internal Span Overhang |
1200 1500 1500 100 |
1500 1500 1500 125 |
- For walls: the data are based on pressures (see wind pressures table)
- Table data are based on supports of 1mm BMT
Capacity & Load Tables
The Wind pressure capacity table is determined by full scale tests conducted at BlueScope Lysaght's NATA-registered testing laboratory, using the direct pressure-testing rig.
Testing was conducted in accordance with AS 1562.1-1992 Design and installation of sheet roof and wall cladding-Metal, and AS 4040.2-1992 Resistance to wind pressures for non-cyclonic regions.
The pressure capacities for serviceability are based on a deflection limit of (span/120) + (maximum fastener pitch/30).
The pressure capacities for strength have been determined by testing the cladding to failure (ultimate capacity).
These pressures are applicable when the cladding is fixed to a minimum of 1.0 mm, G550 steel. For material less than 1.0 mm thick, Contact Us for advice.
